Engineered Floor Fitting in Chiswick

March 2026

Engineered floor fitting completed at a period house on The Avenue in Chiswick, W4. The client was renovating a ground-floor reception room and required a wide-plank engineered board that would complement the Victorian features of the property. We prepared the existing timber subfloor, installed the boards using a secret-nail and glue method, and finished with matching beading and door thresholds throughout.

Work carried out

  • Existing floor covering lifted and removed from site
  • Timber subfloor checked, secured and prepared
  • Engineered oak board fitting — secret nail and glue method
  • All beading and perimeter trims fitted
  • Door threshold strips installed at room transitions
  • Doors trimmed to fit over new floor height

About engineered flooring in Chiswick

Chiswick sits in W4, one of West London's most sought-after residential addresses. The neighbourhood is full of late-Victorian and Edwardian houses where the suspended timber subfloors are still in good condition but benefit from engineered rather than solid boards for dimensional stability. Engineered wood is particularly well suited to Chiswick properties that have underfloor heating — the layered construction handles the temperature cycling that causes solid wood to gap and cup.

We serve Chiswick, Turnham Green, Gunnersbury and across W4 regularly. Whether it is a full ground-floor fitting, a single room, or a supply-and-fit project, we can quote and get the work done to a proper standard. Our fitters are experienced with the access challenges common in the terraced and semi-detached houses found throughout the area.
