We completed an engineered hardwood floor fitting at a Victorian terrace on Romilly Road in Finsbury Park, N4. The project involved removing the existing flooring, preparing the suspended timber subfloor, and installing brushed engineered oak boards throughout the hallway and front reception room. The client had recently renovated the property and wanted a floor that matched the restored period features — the warm oak tone worked well with the original fireplace surround and stripped skirting boards.
Finsbury Park sits across N4 and N8 and contains a large stock of late-Victorian and Edwardian terraced houses. The suspended timber floors in these properties are often still structurally sound but require some preparation before fitting engineered boards. A bouncy subfloor, poorly secured boards, or gaps between joists will transfer movement into the finished floor — so preparation matters as much as the fitting itself.
We work regularly in N4, Stroud Green, Harringay and the surrounding North London postcodes. Whether you are renovating a period house or updating a rented property between tenancies, we can advise on the right product and fitting method for your subfloor conditions. Our quotes are free and our surveys are honest — we will tell you if there is prep work needed and price it clearly before we start.
