We completed an engineered wood floor fitting at a residential flat in Whitechapel, E1. The property — a modern apartment in the Times Square development — required a clean, durable floor that suited the contemporary layout. Our fitters removed the existing floor covering, prepared the concrete subfloor with self-levelling compound and adhesive, and installed the engineered oak boards throughout the open-plan living space.
Whitechapel in E1 sits at the edge of the City and has seen substantial regeneration over the past decade. The area's mix of Victorian warehouse conversions and new-build apartments makes engineered wood flooring a popular choice — it handles the humidity variations that come with riverside and basement flats far better than solid wood, while still giving that natural timber look that transforms a space.
We work across E1 regularly, from Aldgate East through to Mile End. Our fitters know the building types, the subfloor conditions common in older stock, and the access restrictions that come with managed buildings. If you are fitting a flat in an E1 development, we can advise on board specification, adhesive choice, and whether expansion gaps are needed around the perimeter.
